Single-click is the new double-click

We just rolled out a change that will probably affect all of our players. Whereas you used to double-click a card to make the default move for that card, you now only need to single-click it in order to do so. This should make playing faster and easier. Let us know what you think about the change.
Good in theory, irritating in practice. Can you make it optional?
Of course we can make it optional, but it would probably be better to roll back the change if it’s really that annoying.
What don’t you like about it?
Hi Its very annoying, sorry but old habits die hard.
I think it will take time to get used to it but long term will be better.
Single click doesn’t work all the time. Very annoying
it doesen work allthe time. Leave it the way it was
I might be able to adjust to it eventually, but so far I haven’t been able to force myself to play through a game without seeing the pop up. Also I find myself moving cards slightly during a single click, rather than getting the “double click” effect…
I must say that I haven’t made it though a game without the popup either. so I agree with helpsie that old habits die hard. Still, I think we should give it a day or so since the double click really is pointless. David’s working on trying to allow a little slop in the click. We’ll see if that makes a difference.
I was getting a lot of clicks not registering too when I accidentally dragged a card a little bit. I’ve made a change that lets those little drags get counted as clicks and it’s now much better for me. Hopefully you’ll like it too.
Also, the double click warning only shows up once a day instead of every time… Hopefully that will cut down on the annoyance too.
Wow, single-click is much faster! I’m still double clicking, but not nearly as often as this morning. David’s fix seemed to help too.
Well done its much better now that pop up does`nt pop up all the time.God we are a moaning lot are`nt we.
Much better David!! No double clicks and no warnings. Much faster. Thanks
A question for you:
command-a used to auto-finish for me (I use a mac), but now it’s acting as select-all instead. Is this change related to the single-click change?
Thanks!
Sam,
No, it wasn’t related, though it was introduced at the same time (by me, oops!). I think it should be fixed now. As a bonus Sirtet arrows should work again in Safari.
-David
Thanks, it’s working for me again. 🙂
I like the one click feature. Less wear and tear on my mouse! Please keep it.
no
When I accidently double click I get an error message that can’t be closed. It has a link that does close it but also stops the game I have been playing. Most annoying.
Don,
There should be a [X] in the top corner of the box that makes it go away. We have a better graphic for it which should be more clear that we hope to get up shortly.
at first it took some getting used to. now i like it. the only thing is that you have to be careful where the “pointer-thing” goes; e.g. spider, you accidently click on 2nd from the top in a stack and the cards fly everywhere:)
